You Can Go Now and Confusion Caused at End of My Last Shift

On my last shift, June 12, 2026, Susan acted as though she were my supervisor. She spoke to me as if she were a shift leader or the retail manager, even though she is neither. She is my peer. Yet at five minutes before 11:00, she told me, “YOU CAN GO NOW,” as if she had the authority to dismiss me.

Her behavior reminded me of the earlier incident when she arrived one hour early for her shift and insisted that I leave one hour early to compensate for her mistake. She even involved the restaurant manager to pressure me into clocking out at 9:00 a.m. instead of my scheduled 11:00 a.m., simply because she showed up at the wrong time and the manager said she “did not need both of us.”

This most recent shift ended the same way: Susan’s constant demands and her attempts to control my clock‑out process completely disoriented me. Because of her interference, I left without completing the required end‑of‑shift steps — getting a manager to pat my pockets down and having my checkout form signed. I didn’t even realize what I had missed until I was already driving home.

Had Susan not inserted herself into my responsibilities and rushed me out the door, I would have completed my checkout properly. The confusion she created directly caused the oversight. I did not obey her command for me to leave my shift five minutes early; she had not the authority to even ask me to leave.
